What is Global Citizenship?

Global citizenship is the conviction that we exist within a context of complete interconnectedness. As citizens of the world, we understand that global challenges are not defined by borders, regions or nationalities and share a social conscience to address and overcome them, together.

“It’s so important for us to convene leaders a “It’s so important for us to convene leaders across sectors and across industries so that we can explore the complexity of global issues and engage upon multiple perspectives. Only then do we really understand what it means to be global citizens,” shares Zahara Malik, Curator and Head of Partnerships at the Global Citizen Forum.
Every year at its flagship Annual Summit, the Global Citizen Forum brings together heads of state, visionary thought leaders and global change makers to bridge dialogue with action, and solve the world’s most pressing challenges.
This year, as conversations of building a sustainable world engulf the current social and political landscape, the Forum will unleash the power of living in a truly interconnected world in synchronicity with our changing environment.

Did you know that the percentage of children at ri Did you know that the percentage of children at risk of food insecurity is statistically higher in rural areas?
The rural communities that play a critical role in a country’s food production often struggle to provide nutritious meals for their own children.
Geographic isolation, lack of transportation, and limited access to stores with fresh food make it very difficult for many rural families to give their children the nutritious meals they need to grow and develop.
Through its Rural Child Hunger Research and Innovation Lab, @savethechildren aims to help community organizations design and test new and creative ways to eliminate child food insecurity in rural America’s hardest-to-reach, most impoverished communities.

This International Women’s Day, H.E. Razan Al Mu This International Women’s Day, H.E. Razan Al Mubarak – the first Arab woman world to head the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and now, one of the UN High-Level Climate Champions for COP28 UAE – calls on all of us to drive systemic change and nurture collective and equal leadership.
Stressing on the importance of women in leadership roles, H.E. Razan shares that “it would be easy, on a day like this, to pay lip service to nurturing female leaders. But we do need and want to do more than that. We need equal representation. We need to be sure the policies and solutions that we promote are not only co-created by women but also do not inherently exclude them.”
