Zahara Malik joins GCF as Curator and Head of Partnerships
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 22 February 2023: The Global Citizen Forum, a social action platform dedicated to improving the state of global citizenship worldwide, is pleased to announce that Zahara Malik – a passionate philanthropist and one of the most influential women entrepreneurs in the Middle East – has joined the organization as the new Curator and Head of Partnerships.
Zahara Malik is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, and a particular focus on impact investing, sustainable development, and corporate social responsibility. As the Curator and Head of Partnerships, she will work to nurture and strengthen strategic collaborations that advance the Forum’s mission of promoting freedom, representation, equality, responsibility, sustainability, and impact.
“The Global Citizen Forum is a community of leaders who believe that citizenship is more than just a legal status. It represents a commitment to making the world a better place for future generations. This is a value that Zahara shares deeply, which is why I believe she is perfect for the role,” shares Armand Arton, visionary entrepreneur and Founder of the Global Citizen Forum. “She is excited to be leading the Forum and helping shape its agenda for promoting positive change and impact.”
At the heart of the Global Citizen Forum’s work are its five adaptive pillars of governance, technology, mobility, sustainability, and culture. These pillars represent the fundamental building blocks of global citizenship, and the Forum uses them as a channel for dialogue and action to achieve traceable, transparent, and measurable impact. Zahara’s expertise in mobilizing private capital to drive systemic and sustainable change will be invaluable in advancing the Forum’s mission.
“I am honored to be joining the Global Citizen Forum and to have the opportunity to contribute to such a dynamic and purpose-driven community – I am truly excited to work with the Forum’s leadership and partners to drive our mission forward. Together, we will strive to build a better future by fostering a culture of global citizenship and taking meaningful action towards a more equitable and sustainable world,” shares Zahara Malik.
On December 6-7, 2023, the Global Citizen Forum will unveil the second chapter of The Butterfly Effect trilogy – the flagship Annual Summit held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and in partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA). Last year, the first chapter of the trilogy saw a glamorous lineup of celebrity speakers, change makers, and global visionaries, including Ricky Martin, Wyclef Jean, Vishen Lakhiani, Karen Wazen, and many more. Under the theme of ‘Human Metamorphosis,’ the event encouraged the global community to embark on a journey of self-growth to collaboratively address world issues through the prism of global citizenship.
This year, as conversations of building a sustainable world engulf the current social and political landscape, the Annual Summit will bring together heads of state, award-winning artists, and visionary thought leaders to unleash the power of living in a truly interconnected world in synchronicity with our changing environment.
